NEA Transport research and training is an independent, international institute that carries out innovative research, provides advice, organises training courses and works closely with clients to develop strategies in the field of transport, traffic, infrastructure and logistics. All the services NEA provides are based on the experience, knowledge and creativity of our experts and upon the quality of the relationships we have built up over the years with our extensive international networks in government, industry and specialist agencies.
NEA covers a broad field encompassing all the economic and social aspects of both passenger and freight transport, for all modes of transport and the corresponding infrastructure.
NEA is a key part of the Panteia Group, a cluster of well established enterprises that offers a full range of services in policy research, consultancy and marketing.
NEA is based in the Netherlands and over the years has built up a considerable network of national as well as international contacts which have led to joint ventures in China, Turkey, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands. In 2009 a new partnership was undertaken with the Institute of Transport and Communications (ITC) in Bulgaria.
Research and consultancy Our consultancy services are based on unique experience, networks and detailed knowledge and data relating to various markets. NEA is an expert in the field of modelling, forecasting, quantification of international traffic flows, simulation, scenario building and economic impact analysis.
An important basis of NEA's work is formed by the development and maintenance of models in the areas of:
- passenger transport - national and international - goods transport - national and international - Cost/benefit studies for the transport sector
Domestic as well as foreign clients have commissioned NEA to perform feasibility studies, economic impact studies of infrastructure, research on logistics and physical distribution and to give advice on issues related to the design of public transport. NEA has a keen eye for trends, contributes to integral solutions and actively participates in transport dialogues, for example through the organisation of trade missions and events, both nationally and internationally. NEA advises companies in the transport sector and provides benchmarking and consultancy in the areas of business economics and organisation. NEA also assists governments in the development and implementation of, amongst others, transport policy and the fair allocation of revenues for public transport.
Training services NEA also has a long history in transport related training services, covering a broad range of activities, such as the development of course material and case studies, training needs assessments and institutional strengthening. An important component is the design, organisation and realisation of the train-the-trainer programmes.
Clients and staff Clients include the European Commission, multilateral organisations, national, regional and local governments, international associations and the private sector.
NEA staff includes transport economists, econometricians, traffic/transport engineers, legal, policy and institutional experts, EDP experts and training experts, adding up to 70 experienced and motivated staff members.
